Children Eat Free, also known as Wragby ChEF, is a community charity run by local residents in Wragby and the surrounding villages. We started with a simple idea: no child in our community should go hungry, as we believe in the importance of children's nutrition. Our mission has grown into something the whole community can benefit from — a place where good food is shared, not wasted, and everyone is welcome, fostering community support.
We collect surplus food from supermarkets — perfectly good produce that would otherwise be thrown away — and put it to use in two ways. Our community support initiative includes a community larder where local residents can come and choose from what's available. You're welcome to make a donation of your choosing, but if money is tight, that's absolutely fine — the food is there for everyone, supporting children's nutrition in our area. We also use that surplus food to prepare freshly cooked meals, available in our larder freezer from just £1, ensuring access to nutritious options for all.
Every week, tonnes of good food goes to waste while families struggle to put meals on the table, impacting children's nutrition in our community. We believe this is a problem worth solving locally, and the best solution comes from the community itself. That's what Wragby ChEF is about — neighbours helping neighbours. Whether you're popping in for a meal, picking up a few bits from the larder, or just want to see what we're about — you're welcome. No judgement, no fuss. Just good food, good company, and strong community support.

We hold the highest food hygiene rating — five out of five — from the Food Standards Agency. Every meal we prepare is made with care, and you can be confident it's been handled to the highest standards.
We'd love to see you and discuss children's nutrition, so feel free to visit during normal opening hours to learn more about our community support efforts at Wragby ChEF.
