Children Eat Free is a community charity run by local residents in Wragby and the surrounding villages. We started with a simple idea: no child in our community should go hungry. That mission has grown into something the whole community can benefit from — a place where good food is shared, not wasted, and everyone is welcome.
We collect surplus food from supermarkets — perfectly good produce that would otherwise be thrown away — and put it to use in two ways.
Our community larder is open for local residents to come and choose from what's available. You're welcome to make a donation of your choosing, but if money is tight, that's absolutely fine — the food is there for everyone.
We also use that surplus food to prepare freshly cooked meals inavailable in our larder freezer from just £1.
Every week, tonnes of good food goes to waste while families struggle to put meals on the table. We think that's a problem worth solving locally, and we think the best people to solve it are the community itself. That's what Children Eat Free is — neighbours helping neighbours.Whether you're popping in for a meal, picking up a few bits from the larder, or just want to see what we're about — you're welcome. No judgement, no fuss. Just good food and good company.
